Project Details

IPT based smart wireless charger for EV

June 2021 - july 2021

 Conducted thorough research to gain in-depth knowledge about wireless charging schemes and their universal standards. Developed a simulation model (using MATLAB and Simulink) of an 86kHz (SAEJ2954) S-S resonant wireless charger for 48V and 72V output. The smartness of the system lies in its ability to automatically detect the required output voltage and current, and adjust the BMS accordingly. Input and output specifications of the charger were set according to BHARAT DC 001 standard. Further work is being done to obtain smoother switching and output current with a ripple of less than 4.8%. 


IoT based Smart Vehicle Tracking system

 Programmed a microcontroller to collect speed and location data of a vehicle from the OBD II port via the CAN bus. Collected data was sent to a SQL database, via MQTT, using GPRS. A UI was also developed to visualise the speed and location of the vehicle on a map in real-time. This device can be used for speed monitoring, vehicle tracking, fleet management, driving assistant, etc. 


IoT based advance flood warning and public addressing system

 Presented a Proof of Concept (POC) for predicting flood in river basins. The primary motive was to replace the manual methods of flood prediction with faster and more accurate computer-based solutions. Regression models have been developed to predict flood levels at low land due to water discharged by dams at higher altitude. Data collection is done using mesh connected IoT sensors spread along the course of the river. A USP of the solution is its ability to choose the ideal regression algorithm (linear, polynomial, logistic) automatically, while another being very high customisability for each dam. The provision of validation and retraining with the data collected using sensors makes the model even more accurate. With an input of a 3-hour quantitative weather forecast of several days, the model can predict the flood level every 3 hours for that many days in advance. 


Touchless module

 I have started this project with a primary aim to replace the switch of a calling bell with auto detection mechanism.
The module basically consists of an infrared proximity sensor, which generates a train of pulses for a duty cycle of 35%. It also has the ability to remain shut for about 10 seconds after detecting an obstacle.
The said module comes with a BUILT-IN CAPABILITY of handling loads ranging from light electronic loads like LED bulb to heavy electrical loads like ceiling fan, etc. Thus, extending its capability of being used in wide variety of products like automatic basin, automatic urinal to even automatic door opening systems.
Absence of any micro-controller and use of only analog and digital circuitry, makes the product quite cheaper as well as quite reliable for using 24x7.
